AT THE CSIRA CONGRESS ON SEPTEMBER 14-15-16
IRPSI (Istituto Italiano Rorschach e Psicodiagnostica Integrata) is a recognized member of ISR (International Society of the Rorschach and Projective Methods) and CSIRA (Comprehensive System International Rorschach Association). After completing our Rorschach Test Course, those who apply for membership in IRPSI are automatically by right also members of SRI and, upon request, also members of CSIRA.
Since the death of John Exner, founder of the Comprehensive System, many Rorschachists trained by him have carried on his outstanding scientific and clinical legacy, continuing his research and practice work with CS. In particular, thanks to a team led by Anne Andronikof and Patrick Fontan, and of which our faculty members Gazale and Nicodemo are also part, CS has recently experienced interesting developments and insights that were presented at the recent ISR-International Society for the Rorschach and Projective Methods congress, held last July in Geneva. These innovations were also supported by the invaluable contribution of John Exner’s family, who collaborated in the continuation of his father’s work by sharing in the evolution and necessary updating of the system within the lines he drew. Thus was born CS-R (Comprehensive System Revised), which updates the system and integrates these innovations, while maintaining consistency and fidelity to the inspiration, scientific rigor and conceptual framework of the founder, as a natural evolution of the System itself, under the sponsorship of the Rorschach Workshops Foundation and the support of the Exner heirs.
Therefore, this course is truly historic and innovative for us in the continuity of our training: in fact, as a natural development of the Comprehensive System of which we have been recognized teachers for years, we inaugurate with this edition the dissemination of the Comprehensive System Revised (CS-R), an update of John Exner’s approach, based on his own guidelines and deepened with the sponsorship of the Rorschach Workshops Foundation and the Exner heirs.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
– Training of professionals competent in the administration and interpretation of the Rorschach Test Comprehensive System and the Comprehensive System Revised, according to the three-level program implemented by the Rorschach Workshops Foundation, with integration and depth of research within the Comprehensive System and with its recent evolution into the Comprehensive System Revised.
– Restitution training to minors and adults through clinical interviews and written reports intended for both patients and senders in different contexts (psychotherapeutic, psychiatric, rehabilitation, educational, medical, certification, forensic).
– Promotion of the practice of collaborative assessment for clinical, therapeutic, forensic and research purposes, through the integrated administration and interpretation of fundamental psychodiagnostic instruments, of undisputed relevance in the clinical, scientific and forensic fields both nationally and internationally, for developmental and adult age. Specifically, we train clinicians in the practice of assessment in a therapeutic and collaborative framework, based on empathy, respect, and enhancement of patient resources, following the authors who introduced and continue to refine this orientation (Stephen Finn, Constance Fisher, Leonard Handler, Mary Tosanger, Deborah J. Tharinger, Barton Evans, and others).
RECIPIENTS
The course is intended for psychologists, medical specialists and residents in psychiatry and psychotherapy, psychology graduates with a five-year degree, and psychology undergraduates who have already completed a bachelor’s degree. Enrollment is conditional on submitting your resume. The minimum number of participants is 12, the maximum number of participants is 30.
COURSE ORGANIZATION
The face-to-face classes take place on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., according to the schedule below. The lectures will all be held both in-person and on an online platform in the mode of distance learning. The student is required to decide at the time of registration his or her preference.
TEACHING METHODOLOGY
Lectures (face-to-face and online)
They focus on the subjects covered in the lesson, and are also supplemented in the same lessons by:
- Small group exercises on clinical and forensic cases and
- Supervised clinical cases proposed by the students
Clinical supervision workshops
The workshops involve two-hour online meetings with initialing and discussion of a Rorschach protocol; they are an integral part of the training program; and are open to both current students and IRPSI members. They are scheduled on the Zoom platform, conducted by Master’s teachers and held at different times and days throughout the week to allow maximum participation. They focus on supervising the administration and initialing of Rorschach protocols brought in by participants or proposed by teachers. Attendance at the workshops is optional and at no additional cost. Attendance at least two workshops is required for the issuance of the final certificate. The student books for the desired workshop on a case-by-case basis within 48 hours of the start of the workshop. Workshops will be activated with a minimum attendance of two participants enrolled within the time frame. The schedule of workshops can be seen on the website and is periodically updated.
Restricted area and supervision
Each student is allocated a restricted area on the site that he or she can access with a personal password to upload his or her own materials for supervision. Supervision is carried out both as tutorials, during lectures, and during clinical supervision workshops scheduled in the calendar displayed on the website.
Participation in and sharing of research activities
Learners are informed about the congress events of the major international psychodiagnostic societies (SPA-Society for Personality Assessment, ISR – International Society of Rorschach and Projective Methods, CSIRA- Comprehensive System International Rorschach Association) and are encouraged to participate through direct attendance and/or proposal and collaboration in paper and poster presentations on projects approved and coordinated by the faculty.
